Bluegrass Along the Harpeth fills downtown Franklin with two days of bluegrass music, old-time traditions, and friendly competition. Friday evening typically features regional bands, while Saturday brings musicians and dancers together for a full day of instrument, singing, band, and dance contests.
Founded in 1991, the festival honors Franklin musicians and Grand Ole Opry stars Sam and Kirk McGee. Visitors can enjoy fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, string band, bluegrass band, singing, and traditional dance competitions, along with food and craft vendors around the Public Square.
Proceeds benefit the Williamson County Cultural Arts Commission and its work supporting arts and cultural programs in the community.
