Franklin Tree Lighting ceremony set to illuminate on Dec. 3

The city of Franklin is teaming with Spring Tree Media to light up the square Dec. 3 at 6:45 p.m. during the 2015 Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Franklin.

The Freedom Intermediate School Honors Choir, the Centennial High School Chamber Choir, Music City Strings and other surprise guests will make an appearance. This year the event is sponsored by Spring Tree Media, Hyundai of Cool Springs and Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation (MTEMC).

Free photos with Santa will be offered sponsored by Williamson Medical Center and walk away with a 5×7 photograph.

The downtown Franklin Square will be closed from 5:45 to 9 p.m. for this event so attendees can view the movies and lights projected on the buildings and walk to the tree without worry of traffic.

“Last year was such a fun event with close to 3,000 people in attendance,” said City Administrator Eric Stuckey. “We are honored to have Hyundai of Cool Springs, Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation and Williamson Medical Center sponsor our activities this year.

“In addition, Spring Tree media is donating their creative ideas, and services for Franklin families to celebrate our hometown Christmas tree lighting. We welcome back Freedom Intermediate and Centennial High School this year and are excited the Music City Strings are joining us as well.”

The stage will be located in the middle of the square this year with the monument and tree in the background.

“We really want this to be a fun and memorable experience for all who attend and each year we’ll add something new and different, there will be surprises,” said Peter Vaque, President of Spring Tree Media.
