Franklin Parks Athletics Division Receives National Award

City of Franklin Parks Department is being recognized once again for excellence. The Athletics Division was awarded with a Field of Excellence Award this week by Pioneer Athletics. The Franklin Cowboys Complex, along with the Athletics crew, was one of 90 chosen for this award from a pool of over 250 applicants nationwide. Of these winners, two will be honored with a scholarship to give to a deserving student. The scholarship recipients will be announced later this month.

The Franklin Parks Department will be presented with a color banner with Fields of Excellence proclamation and a certificate. A Pioneer representative will recognize our fields along with Athletics staff in the fall 2012 at one of our Cowboys football games.

The Fields of Excellence Awards Program is a national program designed to foster school and community spirit. “This grounds crew is very dedicated to the profession. They work long hours and don’t mind staying late to complete the task at hand,” said Athletics Foreman, Paige Cruse. “This crew is very detailed and precise in their work on a daily basis. They exceed my expectations and I feel are definitely worthy of this award. Special thanks to Kevin Lewis, Shaun Jones, Matt Wallace and Ricky Cox who are all part of this team.”
