Franklin Family YMCA Celebrates Renovation

June 27 ribbon cutting ceremony will celebrate project completion

Franklin, Tenn., June, 15, 2017 – Following several months of extensive construction, the Franklin Family YMCA is nearing completion of its renovation and expansion, and members, donors and staff will soon celebrate with an official ribbon cutting.

The Franklin Family YMCA will also be hosting a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 11 a.m. to thank all those who supported the project. Media are also invited to attend the ribbon cutting, which will be attended by YMCA donors, staff and volunteers, community leaders and dignitaries and Chamber of Commerce representatives.

Expanded Wellness, Group Fitness and Child Care Space anchor expansion

This is the first major expansion in the Franklin Y’s history. In order to continue to meet the demands for Y services in the area and improve the experience for current members, the renovation added much-needed wellness, group fitness and child care space, and also includes expanded activity and social areas for seniors and teens. Highlights of the expansion include:

  • More than 2,200 square feet of new group exercise studio space, providing 42% more room for classes and social programs
  • An expanded 1,674 square foot Y-Play area with indoor youth activity center
  • Expanded Wellness Center
  • Expanded parking lot featuring 150 more spaces
  • Renovated lobby area
  • New Cycle Studio
