Franklin Classic
The 35th Annual Franklin Classic presented by Fleet Feet and benefiting Mercy Community Healthcare will take place Monday, September 2 in historic downtown Franklin. The race is Mercy’s largest fundraising event of the year and they hope to raise $150,000 between registrations and event sponsors this year.
“Thanks to our participants and sponsors, we are able to continue our yearly tradition with the 35th Annual Franklin Classic,” said Tracie Dycus, Marketing and Events Coordinator at Mercy. “The race benefits a great cause and we anticipate another fun-filled Labor Day!”
Participants can register for the event online at www.FranklinClassic.org or in person on Saturday, August 31st from 10am to 6pm at Fleet Feet Sports, 330 Franklin Road, Suite 262B, Brentwood, TN 37027. Running in the race is not the only way to get involved; there are plenty of opportunities to help out before, during and after the event such as distributing posters around town or registering participants the morning of the race. Volunteers can register on the event’s website as either an individual or a group.
New to this year’s race, Start 2 Finish will provide live timing and race results and the finish line will be streamed live online. The Classic will take place rain or shine and consists of three races. The 10k Run kicks off the day at 7 a.m., followed by the 5k Run/Walk and the 1k Kid’s Fun Run. The event concludes with an awards ceremony at 10 a.m. following the Fun Run.
Located alongside the square on 3rd Avenue will be a free Kids Zone, complete with fun activities for the whole family. Included will be face painting, bounce houses, make your own trail mix station, obstacle courses, balloon animals and more.
