FiftyForward College Grove pays tribute to veterans with special program

Herald Reports

FiftyForward will honor veterans with a luncheon and program this Nov. 12, featuring a meal, guest speakers and patriotic music.

The event is sponsored by Ford-Lincoln of Franklin and begins with lunch at 11:30.  The meal will be free to veterans and spouses of veterans, and $5 to all others.

Principal speakers for the day will be Sen. Jack Johnson and Rep. Glen Casada.  In addition, cadets from Page High School’s ROTC program will lend ceremony to the event by presenting and retreating the colors, and pianist Marcella Baker will fill the room with beautiful patriotic music.

“We cannot repay our veterans for their service or for the sacrifices they made on our behalf,” said Center Director Sarah Stephens.  “But we can recognize our veterans, honor them with a grateful heart and – thanks to Ford-Lincoln of Franklin – we can invite them to our table without charge.”

Seating is limited for the veterans tribute, and reservations must be made by Tuesday, Nov. 10.  Contact the Center at: 615-368-7093.  FiftyForward College Grove is located at 8607 Horton Highway.
