Community CPR & Public Safety Day at The Factory at Franklin
June 3 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Free
The Franklin Fire Department, The Factory at Franklin, and local public safety partners will host a free Community CPR & Public Safety Day on Wednesday, June 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Factory at Franklin.
The drop-in event will feature hands-on practice stations where attendees can learn CPR and AED use for adults, children, and infants. Participants can also learn how to respond to choking, bleeding, and overdose emergencies, including how to administer naloxone.
Free one-hour, non-certification CPR classes will also be offered in the Heritage Room. Classes will cover CPR, AED use, and how to respond to choking emergencies. Participants will receive a participation card, which may be helpful for babysitters and caregivers. The classes are taught by Franklin firefighters who are paramedics and American Heart Association CPR instructors, using the AHA Family & Friends curriculum. Classes are recommended for ages 12 and older and involve kneeling, bending, and physical activity, so attendees should wear appropriate clothing. Adult CPR classes are scheduled for 10 a.m. and noon, while infant CPR classes are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Separate registration is required for each class session at www.franklintn.gov/CPR.
Additional activities include a Public Safety Touch-A-Truck, car seat checks, door prizes, safety information, and giveaways. Participating agencies include the Franklin Fire and Police Departments, Williamson Health EMS, Williamson County Health Department, Williamson County Emergency Communications, Williamson County Emergency Management, Atmos Energy, and Mix 92.9.
