Edley’s Bar-B-Que Expands to Brentwood With Third Williamson County Location

Edley’s Bar-B-Que Expands to Brentwood With Third Williamson County Location

Edley’s Bar-B-Que Bringing Smoked Favorites to Brentwood

A well-known Nashville barbecue destination is preparing to open its newest restaurant in Brentwood. Edley’s Bar-B-Que will take over the former McAlister’s Deli space at 330 Franklin Road, adding another major dining option to the growing Brentwood food scene. McAlister’s Deli closed the Brentwood Place location in April after serving the community for two decades. The vacancy will not last long. Edley’s plans to open the new restaurant before the end of the year, continuing the company’s expansion across Middle Tennessee.

The upcoming restaurant will span roughly 3,800 square feet and marks the brand’s 12th location. It will also become Edley’s third restaurant in Williamson County, joining locations at Berry Farms and The Factory at Franklin. Brentwood residents continue to support Tennessee-based restaurants with strong local roots, making the area a great fit for this growing barbecue joint.

Williamson County Continues to Attract Popular Tennessee Restaurants

Edley’s has steadily increased its presence across Williamson County during the past several years. The Berry Farms restaurant opened in 2023, followed by a location at The Factory at Franklin in 2024. The new Brentwood restaurant gives Williamson County local barbecue fans another convenient option without driving into Nashville.

The Franklin Road location places Edley’s near major shopping centers, offices, and residential neighborhoods. Williamson County diners are often quick to embrace restaurants that combine Southern hospitality with scratch-made food and locally rooted concepts.

As Brentwood grows, locals have shown increasing support for regional restaurant groups instead of national chains. Edley’s arrival reflects Williamson County’s continued demand for neighborhood-focused dining experiences with strong Tennessee roots.

The Story Behind Edley’s Bar-B-Que

Will and Catharine Newman founded Edley’s Bar-B-Que in Nashville’s 12 South neighborhood in 2011. Since then, the restaurant has become one of the city’s most recognized barbecue destinations. The name honors Will Newman’s grandfather, Edley Newman, a Tennessee native remembered for his generosity, work ethic, and Southern hospitality.

Since opening that first location, Edley’s has earned recognition from Southern Living, USA Today, Garden & Gun, and readers of The Nashville Scene, who voted it Nashville’s Best Bar-B-Que for four consecutive years. Despite the company’s growth, the restaurant remains family owned and operated, with a continued focus on community involvement and Southern traditions.

What Makes Edley’s Bar-B-Que a Local Favorite

Edley’s focuses heavily on traditional smoking techniques and scratch-made Southern food. The kitchen smokes meats low and slow over Southern white oak each day, helping create the flavor profile that built the restaurant’s loyal following.

Their menu features smoked brisket, pulled pork, ribs, turkey, chicken, and wings served on platters, sandwiches, and tacos. Signature dishes include burnt ends over grits casserole, St. Louis-style ribs, and Nashville-style barbecue coated with cayenne seasoning and habanero barbecue sauce.

Guests also flock to the restaurant’s starters and Southern comfort food favorites. Popular menu items include Nashville Hot Links, BBQ nachos, loaded fries, smoked wings, fried pickles, hot chicken, and hand-breaded catfish. A full-service bar, local craft beers, catering options, takeout, and delivery help round out the Edley’s experience.

Brentwood Location Expected to Open This Year

Construction and renovations are expected to continue throughout the year before the Brentwood restaurant officially opens. Once completed, the location will further strengthen Edley’s presence in Williamson County while adding another locally connected dining destination to Brentwood’s growing restaurant scene.

For local residents, the opening means easier access to smoked brisket, pulled pork, hot chicken, and Southern comfort food closer to home. As Brentwood continues evolving, Edley’s Bar-B-Que appears positioned to become another popular gathering place for families, professionals, and barbecue fans throughout Williamson County.
