Country Music Marathon

The tenth anniversary of the Country Music Marathon & ½ Marathon will rock the streets of Nashville on Saturday, April 25, 2009. The entry fees for the half marathon and marathon will be $80 and $85 until January 1, 2009, when the prices will increase to $95 and $100, respectively. Pending sell out, registrations for the marathon and half marathon will be available for $125 at the Health & Fitness Expo on April 23 and 24, 2009.

“Registering before the New Year is the perfect excuse to jump start your resolution and save money,” said Adam Zocks, general manager of the Country Music Marathon. “We’ve got a lot of participants to thank – those who have made our success possible over the last ten years – and we’re looking forward to making the 2009 Country Music Marathon unlike any other.”

In honor of the 10th Anniversary of the event, runners who register on the 10th of each month will be eligible for a featured monthly prize. Additional promotions will be added each month leading up to the race.

After 2008’s record-breaking field of runners and walkers at the Country Music Marathon & ½ Marathon, race organizers have announced a cap on registration for the half marathon in 2009. The field will be limited to 25,000 participants in the 13.1-mile race and organizers expect the half marathon to sell out. There is no cap on registration for the full marathon.

Run to the rhythm of Music City with over 30,000 participants and experience some of Nashville’s most scenic sights. With 50 bands playing live on 28 entertainment stages, hundreds of high school cheerleaders and thousands of spectators along the course, which wraps around the music hub of the nation, is an incredible experience for athletes of any level.

Both the marathon and half marathon courses start in Centennial Park on West End Ave and finish outside of LP Field, home of the Tennessee Titans. Runners are treated to Nashville’s Music Row, Belmont University and Bicentennial Mall. Marathoners also run along the Cumberland River and through beautiful Shelby Park.

Music continues into the night as all race participants are treated to a free post race concert in downtown Nashville. Past performers include Phil Vassar, Brad Paisley, Martina McBride, Sarah Evans, Jo Dee Messina and “The Gambler”, Kenny Rogers.
