Children’s Theatre Auditions

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce auditions and performance schedules for upcoming productions of “Robin Hood” by the Missoula Children’s Theatre and “Peter Pan” by the Star Bright Players. Robin Hood
Missoula Children’s Theatre presents “Robin Hood,” an exciting adaptation of the classic adventure tale! Providing a venue for your child to discover their stage presence and acting ability, Missoula offers entry level roles for youth ages 5 to 18. With auditions, rehearsals and performances all done in one week, this is a crash-course in theatre your child will not want to miss! “Robin Hood”will dazzle audiences on Saturday, September 20th  with a 2pm matinee and 7pm evening performance at the Freedom Middle School Theatre (750 New Highway 96 West – Franklin). Don’t miss this important opportunity for your child’s thespian development!
 
Auditions for “Robin Hood” will be held at the Franklin Recreation Complex Monday, September 15th beginning promptly at 4pm and continuing until 6pm.
 
Children wishing to audition should arrive by the scheduled starting time and plan to stay for the entire 2 hour schedule. Some cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the auditions. There are acting roles for students of all ages, kindergarten through 12th grade, and approximately 50 to 60 local children will be cast. No advance preparation or resumes are needed.
 
Rehearsals will be conducted from Tuesday, September 16th through Friday, September 19th from 4pm to 6 pm and from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Although not all cast members will be needed at every session, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week if selected and be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed at the conclusion of the auditions. Cast members scheduled for the full 4½ hours of rehearsal will be asked to bring a sack dinner for the break from 6pm to 6:30pm.
 
Tickets to both performances of “Robin Hood” will be sold at the Franklin Recreation Complex beginning on Monday, September 15th and cost $5.00 each with children under age 3 admitted free. Peter Pan
It’s off to Never-Neverland with “Peter Pan” as The Star Bright Players present auditions for the classic children’s play on Sunday, September 28th at the Franklin Recreation Complex. The Star Bright Players are the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department’s award-winning children’s theater group. Auditions for new participants (must be age 8 to 15 at time of audition) in Star Bright will be from 1pm-3pm, followed by returning Star Bright player auditions from 3:30pm-5:30pm. Children may arrive anytime during these time periods, but must be prepared to wait. Parents must remain in waiting areas and may not observe auditions. Children will be required to sing a song, and may be called back for a second audition on Monday, September 29th from 5:30 to 7:30pm at Freedom Middle School.
 
Rehearsals for “Peter Pan” will be held at Freedom Middle School on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings from 5:30pm-7:30pm for 8 weeks. If cast, children must be able to meet the commitments of this rehearsal schedule. There is a $50 activity fee for all children cast in the show (includes costume rental).
 
Performances of “Peter Pan” are scheduled for Friday, December 5th at 7pm, Saturday, December 6th at 7pm, and Sunday, December 7th at 3pm. All performances will be at Freedom Middle School, 750 Highway 96 West in Franklin.
