The Factory Museum at The Factory at Franklin

The Factory Museum at The Factory at Franklin highlights the campus’s industrial history and the companies that operated there beginning in 1929. The inaugural exhibit features stoves and furnaces manufactured on-site, historic photographs, vintage advertisements, and interpretive displays that introduce visitors to the people and businesses that shaped the property.

The first phase spotlights manufacturers including Allen Manufacturing Company, Dortch Stove Works, Magic Chef Inc., and Jamison Bedding Company.

Visitors will also notice a restored chandelier that once hung in the Grand Hall. Originally accepted as rent during the campus’s revitalization era, the custom fixture features more than 2,000 crystal pieces and now hangs above the museum space, creating a visual link between The Factory’s industrial past and its more recent transformation.

Future installations are expected to explore the 1990s renovation and the continued evolution of the campus as a local gathering place.
