Brightstone’s Bowlability

Mark your calendar for BrightStone’s 3rd annual BOWLABILITY, set for Monday and Tuesday, August 15th and 16th at Franklin Family Entertainment Center. You will want to be part of the FUNdraising efforts for BrightStone!
“This event continues to grow in popularity and success,” said Tina Majors, Director of Fund Development.  “Local businesses, organizations, churches, families and friends come together to form teams that fundraise for BrightStone and have a great night of friendly fun-filled competition. It’s always amazing to see the creative team names and team costumes! Last year’s event raised almost $50,000 to help adults with developmental disabilities….and we are eagerly looking forward to a successful 2011 BOWLABILITY!”
BrightStone’s BOWLABILITY is structured around teams of six or fewer who pay $150 to register and reserve their lane. Each bowler is then expected to fundraise a minimum of $100 each. “It’s a great grass roots effort. It’s fun, it builds team camaraderie, and it raises funds for job training and life skills education for adults with special needs at BrightStone,” Tina added. “Most bowlers raise far more than the expected minimum! We help participants with fundraising letters, fliers, posters……but most activity occurs through individual webpages set up through www.firstgiving.com/brightstone.”
Everyone can participate! Opportunities exist for businesses, churches and organizations, friends and families to register a team at $150. A lane sponsorship for an evening is only $200, with additional exposure available through event sponsorships at $1000, $2500 or $5000. “There is something appropriate for every family, organization or company! Register online to reserve your spot or call to learn more about sponsorship opportunities!” Tina expressed. “Teams will choose to participate in one of two bowling sessions offered each evening—one at 5:30p.m. or one at 7:30 p.m.”
BrightStone is a resource in the community providing job training and employment opportunities for adults who are developmentally disabled.
