The City of Brentwood is asking residents to help shape the city’s long-term future as work continues on the Brentwood 2040 Plan.
The city will host two public meetings this summer to gather citizen input on priorities for the coming years. The first, a community engagement meeting, will take place at 6 pm on Thursday, June 25, at the John P. Holt Brentwood Library. A second meeting focused on transportation will be held at 6 pm on Thursday, July 16, at Brentwood City Hall.
The Brentwood 2040 Plan will serve as an update to the city’s long-range planning efforts. Brentwood leaders adopted the Brentwood 2020 Plan in 1999, which helped guide city projects over the following two decades, including park improvements, historic property renovations, and roadway projects. That plan was later revised into the 2030 Plan, and the city is now looking ahead to 2040.
As part of the planning process, the city hired McBride Dale Clarion, a planning and zoning consulting firm, to update Brentwood’s comprehensive plan. The city also established a 21-member resident advisory committee appointed by the City Commission. The committee is divided into three subcommittees focused on business, quality of life, and transportation.
City officials say the meetings are open to Brentwood residents and are intended to gather feedback on what priorities should guide the city as it grows over the next 15 to 20 years.
