Blakeford Senior Life and Nashville Symphony Announce 2021 Partnership

Blakeford will support the Symphony’s Nashville reemergence

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 22, 2021)—Blakeford Senior Life—a local non-profit provider of senior lifestyle solutions—announced its fifth straight year of partnership with the Nashville Symphony. The organizations have been supporting one another’s growth since 2016.

The two have formed a unique collaboration to help each other navigate the challenges of the pandemic. Blakeford Senior Life will assist in the Nashville Symphony’s reemergence into the Nashville market. The Nashville Symphony, in turn, will focus on spreading joy and peace with music in these particularly trying times.

“Our years-long partnership with the Nashville Symphony is something our residents cherish,” said Brian Barnes, CEO of Blakeford Senior Life. “I’ve seen firsthand the joy live music brings to people. I know the Symphony will bring hope and healing to the entire Nashville community, and we are proud to support its efforts.”

The Nashville Symphony recently brought 70 musicians back from furlough to participate in various socially distanced and virtual performances. The organization has also enhanced its education programming to support the unique challenges parents and teachers face in educating arts students during the pandemic. Musicians are available to virtually join classrooms and teach workshops to school bands.

“We are incredibly thankful for our partnership with Blakeford Senior Life,” said Alan D. Valentine, President and CEO of the Nashville Symphony. “With the generous support of Blakeford, we have been able to stay engaged with our patrons through new content from our wonderful musicians and to engage students in Middle Tennessee with virtual content. We now have a vision for the next steps toward our reemergence, and our continued partnership with Blakeford will be instrumental in our success.”
