Blakeford at Green Hills to Break Ground on Multi-Million Dollar Expansion

The expansion will include new independent living apartments and a state-of-the-art fitness and wellness center

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 1, 2020)—Blakeford Senior Life—a local non-profit provider of senior lifestyle solutions —will break ground on its Blakeford at Green Hills $75 million expansion and enhancement project on December 10.

Located on Blakeford’s Green Hills campus at 11 Burton Hills Blvd., the 175,000-square-foot project will add more than 50 new independent living apartment homes and numerous state-of-the-art amenities, including:

  • New fitness & wellness center complete with an indoor pool, salon and spa, gym and group exercise class space
  • Multiple new dining venues including a bistro/grill, coffee shop, grab-n-go market and destination restaurant
  • Rooftop bar and event space
  • Outdoor terrace featuring lakeside views and alfresco dining
  • Art studio, woodworking shop and game room

The project also includes construction of a new memory care neighborhood. This addition will allow Blakeford to provide the full continuum of care on its Green Hills campus, which already includes independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing services.

“For 25 years, Blakeford at Green Hills has provided the highest quality of services and amenities.  This project will allow us to continue to deliver this standard of quality in new and exciting ways for the next generation of seniors and their families,” said Brian Barnes, CEO of Blakeford Senior Life. “These new amenities will be available to all Blakeford at Green Hills residents, as well as members of our LiveWell By Blakeford continuing care at home program.”

The expansion is expected to add over 30 jobs with positions in nursing, culinary, transportation and housekeeping.

Truist Financial Corporation provided a portion of the funding for the project in the amount of $46 million. “We’re proud to partner with Blakeford Senior Life and support our senior community,” said Jeff McNeill, Truist Commercial Banking Relationship Manager.

Blakeford is now accepting Priority Members to reserve the residence of their choice from the nine newly designed floor plans ahead of the general public. Currently there are more than 40 apartments already reserved with completion anticipated in summer 2022.
