NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Hands On powered by United Way of Greater Nashville is inviting Middle Tennessee nonprofits, volunteers, families, groups and businesses to take part in this year’s Season of Sharing, a community-wide campaign designed to connect people with meaningful ways to give back during the holiday season and beyond.
Season of Sharing runs November 1 through January 31 and offers hundreds of ways for residents to spread cheer, serve neighbors and support local nonprofit organizations across United Way of Greater Nashville’s regional footprint. Last year’s inaugural Season of Sharing facilitated more than 2,500 volunteer connections, demonstrating what is possible when neighbors come together through acts of service, kindness and generosity.
Community members are encouraged to help kick off the season at the Season of Sharing Kickoff Party on Saturday, October 24, from 10 a.m. to noon at the new Centennial Park Events Pavilion. The kickoff party will give attendees the chance to meet nonprofit partners, learn about their missions and discover volunteer opportunities that match their interests, schedules and desire to make a difference.

Nonprofit organizations are invited to join Season of Sharing by sharing their volunteer needs, wish lists, supplies or other resources that would help them serve neighbors this winter. By participating, nonprofits can connect with individuals, families, companies and groups ready to lend their time and support. Nonprofits interested in joining Season of Sharing can contact Drew Himsworth at drew.himsworth@unitedwaygn.org.
Volunteers can participate by serving meals, sorting donations, supporting festive events, fulfilling nonprofit wish lists, hosting collection drives or signing up for group service opportunities. Whether someone has a few hours, a team ready to serve or items to donate, Season of Sharing makes it easy to find a meaningful way to help.
