2nd Annual Songwriters Night

2nd Annual Songwriters Night

Renowned Nashville songwriters Rivers Rutherford, Tom Douglas and friends will headline Salama Urban Ministries’ 2nd annual Songwriters Night from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, April 3, at the new Loveless Barn at Loveless Café.

The evening’s proceeds will fund programs that enable higher-risk youth to gain the skills necessary for college, career and life success through Salama, a not-for-profit organization that helps Nashville-area youth achieve their potential academically, artistically and spiritually.

Tickets to this top-tier musical showcase are available for $150 each.

“We are thrilled that Rivers and Tom have agreed to host such a special evening,” said Stan Weber, executive director of Salama Urban Ministries. “Not only will this event showcase some of Nashville’s most talented musicians, but the artists’ hearts for the critical work that Salama does in the lives of young people will shine through.”

Rutherford and Douglas—who both serve on Salama’s volunteer board of directors—will bring A-list star power to a very special evening.

Rutherford has written multiple Top 10 and #1 hits for artists ranging from Tim McGraw (“Real Good Man”) and Faith Hill (“When the Lights Go Down”) to Randy Travis (“Raise Him Up”) and Brooks & Dunn (“Ain’t Nothing ’Bout You”).

Douglas has penned numerous top hits including "The Gift” (co-written with Jim Brickman), McGraw’s "Grown Men Don’t Cry" and “My Little Girl” (co-written with McGraw), and Martina McBride’s "Love’s The Only House”.

Also expected to perform is Kelley Lovelace, who has written 13 top 40 billboard hits, including two No. 1’s for Terri Clark and one for Carrie Underwood. He’s also the co-writer on Brad Paisley’s hits, “Ticks” and “Online”.
