With February being recognized as National Random Acts of Kindness Month, the Nashville location Rise Against Hunger, an international humanitarian organization working to end hunger, invite locals to do good and give back by volunteering at its upcoming community meal packaging event at Von Elrod’s Beer Hall & Kitchen (closed for the day) on Tuesday, Feb. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. At the event, participants will work together for a start-to-finish meal assembly experience, combining rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables and a packet of vitamins and minerals into transformational meals. Local volunteers will aim to package 25,000 meals to be transported to one of the many locations Rise Against Hunger serves, helping meet the immediate nutritional needs of people facing food insecurity.
