WCPR’S Musical Theatre Experience program for Youth Presents Willy Wonka KIDS

Williamson County Parks and Recreation’s (WCPR) Musical Theatre Experience program for youth offers a fast-paced, but FUN education in musical theatre: singing, dancing, and acting, while working towards a culminating production.

The Franklin and Nolensville Spring program is nearing completion and the students are ready to showcase their talents in the musical production of Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka KIDS. Performances for the Franklin cast will be on March 27 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 28 at 1:00 p.m. at the Williamson County Performing Arts Center at Academy Park, 112 Everbright Ave., Franklin. Performances for the Nolensville classes will be at the College Grove Artsitorium, 8601 Henry Horton Hwy. in College Grove. The Nolensville “Golden Ticket” cast performance times will be Thursday, April 2 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 4 at 11:00 a.m. Performances for the Nolensville “Everlasting Gobstopper” cast will be Friday, April 3 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 4 at 2:30 p.m.

Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka KIDS follows the mysterious candy maker Willy Wonka as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. The delicious adventures experienced by Charlie Bucket on his visit to Willy Wonka’s mysterious chocolate factory light up the stage in this captivating adaptation of Dahl’s fantastical tale. Whomever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats, but the fifth is the likeable Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour in the company of his equally kind grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka’s rules in the factory — or suffer the consequences.

Tickets: $7 available at www.wcparksandrec.com.More information available at https://www.wcparksandrec.com/activities/children_s_theatre
