Runaway June to Perform at 2020 Symphony Fashion Show

Rising country trio just added to 15th annual event, featuring designer Zang Toi on April 14

Nashville, Tenn. (January 28, 2020) – Barbara Burns and Ashley Rosen, chairmen of the Symphony Fashion Show, have announced that country music artists Runaway June will be the featured entertainment for the 2020 Symphony Fashion Show, taking place on April 14, 2020, at Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

Recently named “The Next Women of Country” by CMT, the trio will perform during the 15th edition of the event, which will also feature acclaimed designer Zang Toi. Nashville’s leading runway show, the Symphony Fashion Show is presented annually through a partnership between the Nashville Symphony and Gus Mayer of Nashville.

Lauded by Billboard as the “Next Hot Trend in Country Music” and likened to a “Dixie Chicks for a new generation,” Runaway June’s organic three-part harmonies and ringing strings have solidified their status as a top new group thanks to their “inescapable talent” (AXS.com.) The BBR Music Group/Wheelhouse Records act is comprised of Naomi Cooke (lead vocals, guitar), Hannah Mulholland (vocals, mandolin) and Jennifer Wayne (vocals, guitar), and has received rave critical notices from Rolling Stone Country, The Huffington Post, People and countless others.

“The Symphony Fashion Show has become one of Nashville’s most glamorous and spectacular events, a can’t-miss evening that brings together the best of fashion and music to help support the important work the Nashville Symphony does in our community,” said Burns and Rosen. “So it is only fitting that the Symphony Fashion Show’s landmark 15th year will showcase this fabulous and fast-rising trio of gifted musicians. Naomi, Hannah, and Jennifer’s gorgeous three-part harmonies are a perfect fit for the warm acoustics of the Schermerhorn, and pairing them with Zang Toi and his dazzling collection ensures that guests are in for a truly electrifying night in April.”

“To be able to bring music and fashion together with an organization as highly respected as the Nashville Symphony is exciting to be a part of,” added Runaway June. “We are looking forward to an incredible night bringing these two worlds together all for a great cause.”

Runaway June’s debut album, Blue Roses, was released last June and earned a spot on both Rolling Stone’s and Paste’s end-of-year lists as one of the best country and Americana albums of 2019. The band is the first all-female trio in more than 16 years to score a top five hit on country radio and garnered nominations at the 2019 CMT Awards and the 2019 ACMs for New Vocal Duo/Group of the Year. The trio has made numerous national television appearances, including TODAY and Good Morning America, as well the CMA, ACM and ACT Awards, and was recently selected for the Country Radio Seminar’s New Faces Class of 2020. The Symphony Fashion Show is one of the Nashville Symphony’s two major fundraisers each year. Proceeds from the event support the organization’s education and community engagement programs – which annually reach tens of thousands of Middle Tennessee children and adults through free concerts, classroom activities, hands-on instruction and more – as well as helping to sustain the Nashville Symphony’s mission of achieving artistic excellence through outstanding performances, world premieres, commissions and GRAMMY®-winning recordings.

Lauren Alaina, Little Big Town, Kelsea Ballerini, Sara Evans, The Band Perry and Mandy Barnett are just a few of the artists who have appeared as featured entertainers at the Symphony Fashion Show in the past.

Tickets for the 2020 Symphony Fashion Show will go on sale in March. More information is available at NashvilleSymphony.org/SFS.
