OPEN AUDITIONS FOR “THE LITTLE MERMAID JR” SCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 17 

 

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department’s children’s theatre group, the Rising Stars, is a theatre program for kids in Kindergarten through 8th grade. Open auditions for the 2020 Winter production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR. will be on Sunday, November 17 from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. (come anytime within time frame) at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Rd, Franklin, TN. The Little Mermaid JR is adapted from Disney’s Broadway production and the motion picture based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories.

For auditions, actors should prepare a Broadway-style song to sing acapella and wear clothes that are comfortable for movement. No registration is required to audition. Due to the size of the venue, no more than 45 children will be cast in this production. All experience levels are encouraged to audition.

 If cast, the activity fee of $100 must be paid by January 7. Beginning December 17, rehearsals will be Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings from 5:30-7:30 p.m., (although some parts do not require being at every rehearsal) at the Franklin Recreation Complex (with a holiday break from Dec 21 – Jan 6). A detailed rehearsal schedule will be given out at the cast/parent meeting held on the first night of rehearsals Performances will be February 13-15, 2020 at the Williamson County Performing Arts Center at Academy Park, 110 Everbright Ave., Franklin.
