TRASH COMPACTOR KITTENS READY FOR ADOPTION

TRASH COMPACTOR KITTENS READY FOR ADOPTION

Little “survivors” need forever homes

Four kittens that were rescued from a trash compactor in Fairview on August 1 are now ready for adoption at Williamson County Animal Center (WCAC) in Franklin.  The kittens were just two to three weeks old when a citizen using the Fairview Convenience Center spotted them inside a compactor. The kittens, three females and one male, were taken to the Williamson County Animal Center where they were named Frappuccino, Mocha, Latte and Macchiato.

It took ten weeks of foster care by several dedicated volunteers and staff members to get them healthy and ready for adoption.  Shelter Community Outreach Coordinator Debbie Sims said, “These kittens, like many we care for, were malnourished and had ringworm when they came in. It really takes a lot of time and dedication to nurse them back to health, and it has to be done outside the walls of the shelter. We are so grateful to our volunteers for the many hours they put in caring for kittens like these.” The shelter’s foster program has cared for over 700 kittens already in 2019.

If you are interested in adopting one of the compactor kittens or any of the 25 other kittens at the shelter, the adoption fee is $50, plus a second kitten (if you want it) for no additional fee. All adopted pets have been spayed or neutered and are up to date on all vaccinations.

Williamson County Animal Center is located at 106 Claude Yates Dr., next to Franklin High School, and the phone number is (615) 790-5590. Adoptable animals can be viewed at www. adoptwcac.org or follow the shelter on Facebook.
