Tennessee Songwriters Week Qualifying Round (Jan. 30)

The Harpeth Hotel will be hosting this year’s Tennessee Songwriters Week Qualifying Round, in partnership with the Tennessee Department of Tourism. The hotel’s Riverside Ballroom will invite 20 local songwriters to perform original songs and compete for a spot in the annual Tennessee Songwriters Week! This evening of competitive entertainment will be on Monday Jan. 30 from 6 p.m.- 9 p.m. and will feature Studio Tenn’s Artistic Director Patrick Cassidy as well as Nashville-based former NBC “The Voice” Finalist Patrick Thomas on the judging panel.

 

CYT Nashville presents Seussical (Feb. 2-4)

CYT Nashville will be presenting the Seussical at the Williamson County Performing Arts Center at Academy Park from Feb. 2nd- 4th. This magical musical was created by Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty and explores the lives of Dr. Suess characters like Horton the Elephant and The Cat in the Hat! Join the CYT Nashville performers as they transport you from this world into the Dr. Suess universe!

 

The Establishment Big Band (Feb. 2)

The Establishment Big Band will be performing at The Franklin Theatre on Feb. 2! Founded in 1970, an array of Nashville musicians came together to create an ensemble devoted to the rhythmic sounds of the 40s and 50s. This diverse 20-piece band is made up of doctors, lawyers, and executives as well as professional musicians. The Establishment Big Band is a highly-skilled act in high demand throughout the Mid-South, so make sure to check out their performance at The Franklin Theatre and experience it for yourself! 

 

Book Signing with Suzanne Kasler (Feb. 3)

Brooke and Steve Giannetti, design duo and owners of Patina Home & Garden in Leiper’s Fork, will be welcoming renowned interior designer Suzanne Kasler to their store for a book signing from 2 p.m.- 5 p.m. this Friday Feb. 3! Referred to as one of the country’s most influential interior designers, Kasler has been included in many national and international design and lifestyle publications. To top it off, award-winning chef Nic Jones will be there with Hen House food truck to provide locally-sourced and organic comfort food! Stop by Lieper’s Fork this weekend for an afternoon of interior design and yummy food! 

 

Art Crawl (Feb. 3)

The Franklin Art Scene will be holding their monthly art crawl this Friday! This free event showcases Williamson county’s local artists and allows the community to view and purchase all different types of art. Galleries and studios are dispersed throughout Franklin’s historic downtown and many offer refreshments and live music! Williamson Source offers art crawl guests free trolley rides circulating through all of the stops from 6 p.m.- 9 p.m.. Enjoy your Friday night with family and friends at the Franklin Art Scene’s art crawl! 

 

An Evening with Tania Elizabeth (Feb. 3)

Tania Elizabeth wears many hats as fiddle player for the Avett Brothers, a founding member of The Duhks, and a multi-awarded artist. This versatile performer will be stopping by The Mockingbird Theater this Friday at 7 p.m.! As a full-time touring musician since the age of 16, Elizabeth has plenty of expertise in putting on a good show! Join her and singer/songwriter Mike Miz this Friday night for a captivating performance!  

 

Naturalist Workshops (Feb. 4)

Owl’s Hill Nature Sanctuary will be hosting a Naturalist Workshop on tracking basics this Saturday Feb. 4 from 9 a.m.- 11 a.m.! Participants will learn how to identify animal tracks and other signs in order to find out what specific animals are active in the area. This workshop covers basic tracking and identification techniques to improve skills and gain insight into local wildlife! 

 

AAHS 22nd Annual Black Tie Affair (Feb. 4)

The African American Heritage Society of Williamson County will be celebrating 22 years with their Annual Black Tie Affair this Saturday Feb. 6! This non-profit organization collects, preserves, and interprets artifacts involving Williamson County’s African American culture. Taking place at the Embassy Suites by Hilton, join the AAHS of Williamson County for a night of commemoration and community!

 

Exit Stage Left Improv Comedy (Feb. 4)

Improv comedy group Exit Stage Left will be performing at the Mockingbird Theater this Saturday Feb. 4 at 7 p.m.! These highly trained comedians have been doing improv together for over a decade and are ready to make you laugh with their on-the-spot antics and audience interactions. If you’re looking for a night of comedy, check out this local improv troupe!
