BBB of Middle TN and Southern KY Songwriter’s Night Slated for September 30th to Benefit local Small Businesses

Better Business Bureau of Middle TN and Southern KY will host the fourth annual Songwriter’s Night event on September 30th, 5:30 PM at the Factory at Franklin located at 230 Franklin Road. Top event sponsors include Asurion, Capstar Bank, Earl Swensson Associates, and Lipscomb & Pitts Insurance.

The event’s special host is Danielle Breezy, News 2 Chief Meteorologist. A live and silent auction plus performances from award-winning songwriters, Mackenzie Carpenter, Wyatt McCubbin, and Tony Lane, are a few of the highlights to anticipate at the upcoming event. Carpenter recently opened for Miranda Lambert, released her own single “Can’t Nobody“, and her first cut as a songwriter, “Villain” made it to #1 on iTunes. McCubbin has toured with Josh Turner and written songs for Tracey Lawrence, Josh Ward, and John Schneider, just to name a few. Songwriter, Tony Lane, has been in the music business for over twenty-five years. He has penned songs for Lee Ann Womack, George Strait, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and many more.

“We are looking forward to hosting a post-pandemic event. Last year the event took place virtually, but there is something special when we are all in the same room,” said Robyn Householder, President & CEO of Better Business Bureau serving Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky. “This event main purpose for the event is to raise funds to continue helping small businesses in the areas we serve.”

Funds raised will help BBB’s Integrity Foundations Small Business Grants that assist our Accredited Business community negatively impacted by COVID, tornadoes, floods, and other natural disasters. In 2021, BBB awarded funds to 11 businesses that struggled due to natural catastrophes and COVID. Grants totaled $16,000. One grant recipient stated, “Our business would not have survived without the funds. It really made a positive impact on our cash flow.”
