Oaklands Mansion’s Inaugural Ar-“Beer”-etum Wetlands & Gardens Tours

Presented by Liquid Smoke April 30, 2021

Join Oaklands Mansion’s Special Events Representative and Master Gardener, Connor Moss, for a unique experience on the grounds of Oaklands Park. Make plans to schedule your tour to explore the former grounds of this historic plantation, now open as a public park. Along the way you will find multiple beer sampling stations provided by Murfreesboro’s own Liquid Smoke. Their expert staff members have chosen beer with notes that highlight the trees you will learn about on the grounds tour.

Guided tours of Oaklands Park will be offered on Friday, April 30, 2021, on the hour from 4:00PM – 8:00PM by reservation only. Oaklands Mansion is nestled in Oaklands Park, a native tree arboretum and natural wetlands, which includes Maney Spring as well as heritage and native gardens. The grounds tour will include an overview of the arboretum, wetlands and gardens.

“Oaklands Park is downtown Murfreesboro’s largest natural wetland area and is a rarity for such a densely populated community,” says Connor Moss, Special Events Representative & Master Gardener at Oaklands Mansion. “The park provides a fascinating study area for both its wildlife and plant-life, and late April is wonderful time to visit.”

Admission for the grounds tour is $50.00 per person, and all proceeds will benefit the maintenance and preservation of the grounds. Tours will be available by reservation only. Reservations are required as space is limited to 20 individuals per hour. For tickets, please visit www.oaklandsmansion.org. Please be aware that the entirety of the grounds tour will take place outside and requires extensive walking. Allow 1 hour for the tour and dress appropriately for the weather.

After your grounds tour, you will be welcomed into the mansion for a self-guided tour with staff members available to answer questions.  The Home Sweet Home Band will play live in the mansion’s back yard garden from 5-7PM. Face masks are requested indoors. Tickets must be purchased online in advance. For more information visit www.oaklandsmansion.org. You can find Oaklands Mansion on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
