Behind superbly crafted renderings from Noble Johnson Architects, LLC, stand professionals dedicated to coaching clients to projects’ success and satisfaction — all led by a lifelong Brentwood resident.

Formerly William C Johnson Architect, LLC, Noble Johnson is a full-service architectural and interior design firm whose four-member team provides design services for both residential and commercial projects. Their residential work includes custom residences, vacation homes, renovations, additions and multi-family projects, with design styles ranging from classic and traditional to modern and eclectic.

“We have extensive experience designing historical additions and infill projects in the many historic districts throughout Nashville,” says Noble Johnson owner and local resident Christian Noble.

Noble Johnson Architects also provides commercial, industrial and institutional design services, specifically office or retail structures, tenant spaces, assisted living facilities, storage facilities, restaurants and hotels.

As a member of the US Green Building Council and LEED Accredited Professionals, they’re committed to promoting green building practices.

Keeping quality in mind, Christian says successful projects result from collaboration of owners, architects, interior designers, consultants and contractors.

A thorough understanding of programming, site and environmental conditions, budget, and construction requirements is also essential. “We strive to exceed our clients’ expectations and value the relationships developed over many years. We take pride in the fact our clientele is produced primarily through a referral network of satisfied customers,” he says.

Residential services provided include architectural and interior design for new custom homes, as well as renovations. Christian says renovations may include additions, kitchens, bedroom suites, bathrooms, outdoor living spaces, screened porches and other exterior design improvements to update the style of homes or to add curb appeal.

“For homeowners considering their first remodeling, we often get asked what the design process is like and how contractors are selected,” explains Christian. “Beyond the plans and pretty pictures, we are available to assist to whatever degree that clients need or want us to.”

He says about half of the time, homeowners already have contractors in mind. For the other 50 percent of developments, he says the Noble Johnson team maintains a long list of contractors with whom they’ve worked before and in whom they have confidence to recommend.

One trend associated with current renovations, Christian says, is that homeowners are starting outside with kitchens and outdoor spaces, and then extending updates to indoors. “Many of our inside renovations are for kitchens, laundry rooms and pantries,” he adds.

Christian says farm house styles with black windows or painted brick are popular.

“Because so many people are remodeling, longer lead times are needed, so it’s important to plan seven to nine months ahead. We can finish plans, but getting all the contractors lined up within certain dates is becoming the tricky part,” says Christian.

He says their process typically starts with a one-hour, on-site consultation with business or home owners so they can personally vocalize how they envision their spaces and how they plan to use them. “It’s critical for us to hear everyone’s personal visions so we can put into action what they’re dreaming,” he adds.

They do an abundant amount of work throughout Williamson and Davidson counties, including Brentwood, Belle Meade, Berry Hill, Nolensville, Oak Hill, Forest Hills, Franklin, Belmont, West Meade, 12 South, and elsewhere in Nashville.
